The original paper copy of this map bears no indication of either scale or date. Comparison with other maps indicates that the scale is about 4 inches to the mile. The date has been estimated from the facts that Borough status was conferred on Romford in 1937 and one of the advertisements invites people to "Ask for copies of our 1939 Holiday Programmes".

The map was scanned at 200 dpi and saved onto the CD as 6 overlapping tiles. The CD also includes the Street Index and Local Advertisements which were part of the original publication.
